Sunrise, Sunset! Red + Orange Davenport Necklace Skywalker Ranch!
Gorgeous rare red and orange striped Davenport sea glass in colors that will have you singing!
Deep red stripes fade into orange whisps in this fabulous pattern from remnants of the Lundberg Studio's glassblowing work for George Lucas' Skywalker Ranch! The Lundberg Studio artists created the most incredible art-glass lighting, windows, and huge skylight at the historic home of Star Wars creator George Lucas. These beauties are a genuine part of history! I have very few pieces of this stunning orange-patterned sea glass; it’s the rarest of all the Lundberg pieces, and it was the only time they used orange glass in this way. Check out the image of Skywalker Ranch to see it in its glory! It's the perfect necklace for any sea glass lover, and especially a true Star Wars fan.
All Sea and Sky Studio jewelry is handcrafted by me using genuine surf-tumbled sea glass in my metalsmithing studio on Hawai’i Island. I take meticulous care to bring you the best in rare and elevated sea glass jewelry. This piece is hand-set in solid fine (pure) silver and solid sterling silver. Each piece is a true labor of love that I hope you enjoy for years to come.

A little about the sea glass we refer to as “Davenport.”
“Davenport” is the nickname for the incredible sea glass found on a unique beach near Santa Cruz along the California Coast. This unique glass is “art glass” sea glass - originating from cast-off pieces from glassblowing at Lundberg Studio. This studio was renowned for its incredible artistry and unique designs. One of the fantastic Lundberg paperweights even has a prestigious place in the Smithsonian Museum! In the early 1980s, a large storm hit the area, causing a landslide that took the large barrels of their broken and end-of-the-day glass down a steep embankment and into the river below. Lucky for us, that river makes its way to a sequestered beach in a very rough area of the Pacific Ocean. Some 40+ years later, these magical pieces of broken and cast-off glass have new life and amazing sea glass. They are works of art in their own right. I aim to take these already beautiful sea glass pieces and create settings that elevate and accentuate their unique gem-like qualities.

Here is how they describe the studio:
“We are a premier art glass manufacturing company. For over 47 years, we have produced some of the finest art glass of our times. Lundberg Studios is located in the small coastal town of Davenport, California.
We began in the backyard hot shop of our late founder, James Lundberg, in 1970. Master craftsmen individually create an exquisite array of vases, scent bottles, paperweights, lighting, and custom commissions.
Exclusive to Lundberg Studios, design styles range from antique to contemporary, from Tiffany to Art Deco. Lundberg Art Glass is made entirely at the studios in Davenport on a limited production basis. Melting all its own exotic colors, Lundberg Studios has refined the art of making quality glass by using a blend of techniques, both traditional and innovative. To own a piece of Lundberg Art Glass is to own an heirloom of tomorrow!”
