Stunnnnning Purple Italian Neodymium Ring Changes Color! (5 3/4)
Stunnnnning Purple Italian Neodymium Ring Changes Color! (5 3/4)
I am so, so thrilled to have an opportunity to work with these incredible purple neodymium sea glass pieces from Italy! The color is just remarkable!
Fabulous shape and amazing color! Oh, my neodymium! This incredible purple sea glass is a sight, but when you find out it also contains the chemical element neodymium in the glass, and that makes it change colors in a different light? Insane! That’s right - this fantastic purple art glass sea glass from Italy has a secret: under natural light, it is vibrant purple, but under fluorescent light, it’s blue! The color change happens like magic as you move between light sources. It’s simply amazing to see! I have watched these rare pieces change hundreds of times, and they still amaze me every time.
It is beautifully set in solid silver and polished to a brilliant shine.

I am so pleased to have the opportunity to work with pieces of incredible and truly rare sea glass from the coast of Tuscany. My travels abroad have allowed me to beachcomb on this beach, and it’s been a true gift from the sea glass heavens! I look forward to showing you all some stunning pieces made with vintage Italian art glass sea glass that have been collected over the past few decades. The colors will blow you away! Bellissimo!
All Sea and Sky Studio jewelry is handmade by me using genuine surf-tumbled sea glass in my metalsmithing studio on Hawai’i Island. I take meticulous care to bring you the best in rare and elevated sea glass jewelry. This piece is hand-set in solid fine (pure) silver and solid sterling silver. Each piece is a true labor of love that I hope you enjoy for years to come.
Each piece is carefully photographed to show its true color, but please allow for some color shifts as sea glass reflects what is around it as well as shifts due to monitor differences. Thank you for considering my work for your collection!
