Stunning Pontil Mark Starburst Cobalt Blue Davenport Cuff
Stunning Pontil Mark Starburst Cobalt Blue Davenport Cuff
Gorgeous, brilliant cobalt blue sea glass has the marks where it was initially cut from the glassblowing pipe. This is an amazing historical piece! It is beautiful, rich in color, and has an excellent design. There is still a tiny amount of “unfrosted” dichroic glass in the deep lines of the starburst from the areas where the sand and rocks could not reach. This gives the sea glass a wink of shine and glimmer!
This fabulous piece has been set in a bar-style cuff, making it lighter to wear while maintaining the elegant balance of the sea glass. It is a gorgeous cuff that can be worn every day!
Set in fine and sterling silver on a heavy-gauge silver cuff bracelet, hammered style and polished to a high shine.
Measurements:
* Cuff Size: “Average” - measure 6 inches when flat before being shaped
* Sea Glass (approximate): 26 mm

A little about the sea glass we refer to as “Davenport.”
“Davenport” is the nickname for the incredible sea glass found on a unique beach near Santa Cruz along the California Coast. This unique glass is “art glass” sea glass - originating from cast-off pieces from glassblowing at Lundberg Studio. This studio was renowned for its incredible artistry and unique designs. One of the fantastic Lundberg paperweights even has a prestigious place in the Smithsonian Museum! In the early 1980s, a large storm hit the area, causing a landslide that took the large barrels of their broken and end-of-the-day glass down a steep embankment and into the river below. Lucky for us, that river makes its way to a sequestered beach in a very rough area of the Pacific Ocean. Some 40+ years later, these magical pieces of broken and cast-off glass have new life and fantastic sea glass. They are works of art in their own right. I aim to take these beautiful sea glass pieces and create settings that elevate and accentuate their unique gem-like qualities.
If you want to learn more about the Lundberg Studio story, check the link to their website (and see if you recognize any unique designs from the sea glass!).

Here is how they describe the studio:
“We are a premier art glass manufacturing company. For over 47 years, we have produced some of the finest art glass of our times. Lundberg Studios is located in the small coastal town of Davenport, California.
We began in the backyard hot shop of our late founder, James Lundberg, in 1970. Master craftsmen individually create an exquisite array of vases, scent bottles, paperweights, lighting, and custom commissions.
Exclusive to Lundberg Studios, design styles range from antique to contemporary, from Tiffany to Art Deco. Lundberg Art Glass is made entirely at the studios in Davenport on a limited production basis. Melting all its own exotic colors, Lundberg Studios has refined the art of making quality glass by using a blend of techniques, both traditional and innovative. To own a piece of Lundberg Art Glass is to own an heirloom of tomorrow!”
